Life on Google+

After being on Google+ for just a few weeks, here are some observations:

Techs Rule: You'll find just about every famous technology celebrity on Google+, plus a lot of wannabes (like moi).  You name them and you'll find them.  My biggest circle at this point consists of tech celebs.  Most of the other circles are pretty sparse.

Don't Expect To Find Your Friends (Yet): Most of my friends and family are MIA on Google+ and it may be that way for a while.  It does not seem to be a popular spot for the technologically-challenged or average Internet user.

Animated GIFs Are Back With A Vengance: They should call Google+ "The attack of the animated GIFs".  It makes for a unique user experience--but it gets old very quickly.

It Would Be Nice If You Could Add Your Facebook Friends:  However, that isn't going to happen soon.  FB is protecting its walled fortress.  As they should.

Getting Added To Circles Isn't Easy: Right now, I am following 10X the number of people that are following me.  And since it isn't easy to find new people to add to circles, you can't blow up your list of followers as fast as on FB or Twitter.

Of course, we are still in beta.  Let's see how things look when it opens up to the world.
