Google Says: Hello Moto!

Google has acquired Motorola Mobility.  With a stroke of a pen, Google has become a major player in the patent wars.  Why?  Moto’s patent portfolio reportedly contains nearly 15,000 granted patents and nearly 7,000 pending applications.


Now, things are going to get interesting.  First of all, we need to gauge the response of Google’s Android partners including Samsung, HTC, Asus, LG, Acer and Lenovo.  Secondly, it remains to be seen how Android’s nemesis Apple will respond, especially since they are on a patent litigation binge right now.  Interesting times ahead.  Stay tuned!
